Beating the enemies is pretty straightforward and easy until the knights and the final demon boss. I found this walkthrough pretty helpful in knowing what to do to beat them.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

To accomplish the achievement quickly, just head to the canyon bridge and keep defeating the enemies there until you have reached a sufficient level. Don't worry about dying repeatedly; your exp points will be saved each time
I actually ended up leveling up on the bridge a lot on accident because I stink at timing jumps and kept falling in the gaps or hitting the bird.
