Nintendo Wii Screenshots: National Geographic Challenge

National Geographic Challenge for WiiWhen I rented National Geographic Challenge I expected a game with animal and nature questions, as that is what the Gamefly description said.  It turns out the description was really for the National Geographic Quiz! Wild Life game.  The National Geographic Challenge game is more about geography, which actually made me like the game more because I like geography while I am barely interested in animals.

Overall I really enjoyed playing the National Geographic Challenge trivia.  I found the questions quite challenging even on easy.  I do not mind a challenge with trivia games, but I can see this as too frustrating for those not at all familiar with geography because even though I know a good amount of geography trivia I did not know most of the answers.  It is great for learning and those that like a challenge, though.

The game also has puzzles like jigsaw, square, and slider, but I did not check them out because it just did not interest me to play that kind of puzzle game on a console.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: Jeopardy

I love watching the game show Jeopardy and playing trivia games, so I was excited for this game to finally come up as my Gamefly rental earlier this month.  Lately, I have ended up being quite disappointed in my rentals including two 3DS LEGO games that frustrated me to the point of not even finishing the first level (Star Wars Clone Wars was worst and Pirates not much better).  I actually had low expectations all along for Jeopardy, so I do not know if it was the low expectations or just the fact it was a game that did not frustrate me, but either way I ended up falling in love with the game.

The easy mode of Jeopardy on the DS gives you three options for the question when you buzz in.  This makes it easy for you to guess with less certainty, although you are still risking the money if you get it wrong.  Starting in medium difficulty, though, it is like real Jeopardy and you have to type in your response.

Overall I found Jeopardy for the Nintendo DS to be a lot of fun.  Some categories were easy and others challenging, but it was fun to learn new things while playing.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: You Don't Know Jack

I use to love playing You Don't Know Jack on the computer, so when I saw that they made a version for the Nintendo DS earlier this year I just had to try it out.  I ended up renting it through Gamefly, but I would not have regretted it if I had purchased instead.

In You Don't Know Jack for the Nintendo DS you can play as 1 or 2 players.  I only tried single player.  There are 37 different episodes to play through.  Basically, you can play through them all and then know all the answer and really rock at it.

The gameplay is just as fun as the original computer versions of You Don't Know Jack.  You buzz in by pressing the arrow direction for the correct answer to multiple choice questions.  For the Dis or Dat you use L and R buttons.  For the Final Jack Attack round you can press any button when the clues match up to fit the category.

Overall You Don't Know Jack is a fun trivia game, especially if you have enjoyed the computer versions.  However, it is somewhat limited in overall gameplay value since it only has 37 episodes, so only 370 total "questions."  Thus, it might make a better rental than purchase, but for the current price (~$17 to $23) it is available for it is not a bad deal to purchase it and leisurely play through all the episodes.

iPhone Game Screenshots: Movie Quizzle

Movie Quizzle is a fun quick trivia game app. There is a decent variety of trivia questions that make the replay value good. It is fun to keep playing and earning points to unlock the prizes, but it is mostly entertaining in short sessions of play.

iPhone Game Screenshots: How Big of a Disney Fan Are You?

This is a simple quiz that is part of the Disney.com app games. It is kind of minimal, especially when compared to the Disney Fans Fun Facts Trivia that is part of the same app. Kind of interesting the first time, but not much to it after being proved an Ultimate Disney Fan after my first try.

iPhone Game Screenshots: Disney Fans Fun Facts Trivia

Disney Fans Fun Facts Trivia is a fun trivia game that is part of the free Disney.com app. I am a big Disney fan and find the trivia fun and entertaining. It is also a good challenge. I also like that you earn pins for reaching certain goals overall and in specific categories, however, the pins seemed to be somewhat glitched in being awarded, as I have none of the 100 correct answers in a category pins even though I have gotten that many right and it even says negative number until I get it. Also, the in a row ones make no sense, as I have gotten the 30 ones in each category, but have never gotten 30 in a row correct. Pin glitches do not affect the fun of the game, though. Only slightly annoying thing is that it does require good phone service to work and load the questions, which can annoyingly somewhat randomly not work, but overall it works pretty seemlessly in most cases.
