Nintendo Wii U: Disney Infinity Getting Started and Pirate Adventure
Disney Infinity is similar in concept to Skylanders with it involving a base and actual action figures that are transported into the game, but it is also very different and so much more. The game comes with three characters and a crystal for three play sets (these are for the adventure mode style gaming with missions and such. The game also comes with one random series 1 power disc, which unlocks special things to use and play with in the Toy Box mode (Mincraft type mode in that in this mode you design and play in your own Disney universe). There are currently 20 discs in series 1 plus an exclusive one from gold Toys R Us power disc blind packs.
I started by playing with Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean play set. I thought it was pretty cool because it at least begins being like you are in the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park ride scenes.
Overall my initial thoughts on the game is that it has a lot to explore and do, especially with the creative aspect of the Toy Box (you can create multiple save files with different worlds/designs). I am a major Disney fan, though, so to me the Toy Box mode is totally appealing and is like bringing the magic of the parks into your home. The adventure mode is also fun, as you can play through different missions depending on the play set and character you choose.
Of course, Disney Infinity can also be a costly game to get into, as there are already two different play sets to purchase (Lone Ranger and Cars), about a dozen figures, and the power discs are in blind packs of 2 that could mean buying a lot to complete the set. However, just with the starter set you can do a lot and slowly build the collection. Also, I noticed Toys R Us stores already have a trade event planned in September, so you could trade your duplicate power discs and maybe get lucky enough to only have to purchase 10 packs total, although the 3 rare orange ones are likely going to mean needing more to trade orange for orange (I got one orange - Dumbo - from my purchase of 6 packs).

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Punning Around
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Monday, November 7, 2011 is the Punning Around Badge. This is an Easy rated badge for the game Flagstaff: Chapter 2.
To get the badge you need to level up your party to level 15. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 6 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.
At first glance this seemed like a lot of work, but you actually start at level 11 and leveling up does not take too long. It took me about 20 minutes of playing before I leveled up to 15 in the third dungeon. I really liked using the archer and wizard for long range attacking.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.
Comment if you have any if you have any other tips to help others get today's badge to help out those having trouble. Also, feel free to ask questions if you need help and I will try to help you out.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Bloodied Blade
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Wednesday, May 25, 2011 is Bloodied Blade This is a Medium rated badge for the game Shadowreign RPG. To get the badge you need to defeat 100 enemies. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.
Not sure how truly difficult this badge is, but the game is certainly frustrating me. I spent 10 minutes on my first try just figure out that it glitched and I had to restart to try to get the starting guy to drop the weapon and let me actually play the game. I now have the weapon, but no longer feel much like playing. Might come back to it later today.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Rising Star

I beat the Young Mages Competition by only getting the Burn and High Attack bonus skills and not wasting any more days on additional skills. I used my skills earned from the mana cave to upgrade regular high and low attacks to max of level 10, high attack bonus to level 5, life to level 11 (i.e. 110 HP), mana to level 7 (i.e. 150 mana), and basic damage to level 5.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: ^_^
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Sunday, April 24, 2011 is the ^_^ Badge. This is a Medium rated badge for the game Chibi Knight. To get the badge you have to defeat the final demon (after the three knights in the dungeon. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.
Beating the enemies is pretty straightforward and easy until the knights and the final demon boss. I found this walkthrough pretty helpful in knowing what to do to beat them.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Spelunking Specialist
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Saturday, April 22, 2011 is the Spelunking Specialist Badge. This is a Hard rated badge for the game Hack Slash Crawl. To get the badge you have to reach the 15th dungeon floor. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 33 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.
This certainly is a hard badge, but I do not know how hard because two of the four times I have tried so far I failed because my stupid multi touchpad mouse caused me to leave the game and their is no save function. The other two times it was the type of spells I used at start. I have found the most useful is to have the Ignite, which you get as a Magus. There is also some luck involved based on what you get as drops.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

Nintendo Wii Screenshots: PokePark Wii Pikachu's Adventure
PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure sure is not the normal Pokemon game, but rather it is along the lines of Hey, You Pikachu! for Nintendo 64 and Pokemon Channel for Gamecube. This line of Pokemon games have always been among my least favorite, but I still find them fun to at least play through a little. PokePark actually was better than I expected, as it is kind of fun when you get to be Pikachu and make other Pokemon friends.
The best part is you actually get to control Pikachu and do battles where you can dodge and stuff in real time. The battles are very short and not the best, but certainly something that is long overdue to be in a Pokemon game.
Overall PokePark Wii can be fun, but it does not have much depth, especially since it lacks multiplayer for the mini games. It also is likely to be too cutesy or not enough action for many traditional Pokemon fans. However, there is certainly a niche of Pokemon fans that can appreciate this game, especially if they liked the previous similar games of Hey, You Pikachu!
and/or Pokemon Channel

Nintendo DS Screenshots: History Great Empires Rome
History Great Empires Rome is not too bad of a role playing game, but I just cannot get into playing this style of game on the DS. These kinds of games just work better on a computer despite me not being much of a computer gamer. I did not like the main gameplay, but I thought the mini games were kind of cool. It was fun to play the Sudoku with Roman Numerals. I also liked the trivia game (Quo Vadis?). Not enough to make the game worth owning, though. Some may like this game as a good role playing game on the go, but I suggest renting it before buying because even though I like similar games on the computer this does not cut it as worthwhile on the go.
