Nintendo Wii Screenshots: New Everybody Votes Polls and Results August 25, 2009

The newest National poll results are in for Which do you deem to be a greater achievement? The majority (55.6%) said A team-sport win. The gender breakdown was 55.7% of males and 55.4% of females saying A team-sport win. The National Prediction Accuracy was 54.8%.

The newest National poll is Have you ever tried to use the Force like Luke Skywalker? I'll never admit it! or Okay, I admit it. How about no, I really never have. I never have been much into Star Wars other than the pod racing video game on the N64, which by the way inspired one of my birthday cakes one year. Anyways, what is up with all these Star wars polls. I think at least 3 of the last 6 were about Star Wars.

The ninth sport on Wii Sports Resort is Power Cruising. It is basically just waverunners/jet ski riding. The controls are kind of boring of just leaning right and left holding the nunchuck and Wii remote like holding handlebars. It is rather realistic though. It is mostly just going through courses. You can race, but only locally against another person. I am kind of annoyed you cannot race against a computer player. That kind of limits the depth of this part of the game, but there are still other events I still enjoy.

Nintendo Wii Screenshots: Rock Band 2 New Battle of the Bands Challenge August 24, 2009

The newest Battle of the Bands Challenge is called Panic Attack Ultimate Guitar Streakathon. It is a guitar battle. The song is "Panic Attack." You have to play at Medium or higher difficulty. The challenge is ranked by longest streak. Finally, it is a challenge that does not require you to purchase additional songs. I did not do that great with only a streak of 150 and playing 63 out of 82 at the time, but I just like being able to try the challenges without having to buy songs, which I cannot currently afford.

The newest Battle of the Bands Challenge is called Geek Vocalist Freak-Out! It is a vocal battle. The songs have the theme of the word mister in them. The three songs are "Conventional Lover," "Still Alive," and "Livin' at the Corner of Dude &." I was not able to do the challenge because two of the three songs are ones that need to be purchased from the Rock Band Store.

Below is a edit video of clips of me playing the bowling events on Wii Sports Resort. I am especially proud of the strikes I got in the 100 pin mode.

The eighth game on Wii Sports Resort is bowling. It is pretty much like the stuff on the original Wii Sports, but you can have automatic release of ball when you swing instead of letting go of B to release. You can bowl a regular game, a game with 100 pins, or a game with spin control blocks. It is a little different format for the 100 pins being in all frames instead of working up to 100 pins like in the Wii Sports training. Also, spin control is different in that you just bowl a 10 frame game with blocks of various levels (it seems to adjust depending on how you are doing). Oh, and the Wii Motion Plus does seem to make it even more realistic bowling, which means going to non-Wii Sports bowling games will be even worse now than they were before unless they decide to use the motion plus as well as actually finally become realistic like Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Anyways, I still like Wakeboarding the best, but I am very happy that not only is bowling also on this version, but it is really improved.
