Kongregate Badge of the Day: Military Disarmament

The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Thursday, September 7, 2011 is the Military Disarmament Badge.  This is a medium rated badge for the game Orbital Decay.  To get the badge you have to destroy 10 turrets before destroying the unit carrying it. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.

This is overall quite easy.  Just shoot at the front turret on the big enemies with turrets to kill the turret before killing the enemy.  The best is when the caterpillar comes with a bunch of turrets on it.

No New Kongregate Badge of the Day, Yet

The badge of the day is one of the first things I like to do when I get up.  I do not always play it or get it in the morning, but I at least like to check what it is, as sometimes I already have the badge and I can really quickly load the game for the bonus points.  Sadly, as of 5:15am MST the Kongregate Badge of the Day is still showing as yesterday's (9/7/11's) for Pearl's Vengeance Badge.  No idea if those that did not get it yesterday can get bonus points from it today while it is still there or not, but it definitely is not today's badge, as it does not give bonus points today.  Here's to hoping it is fixed before I get back home around noon.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Pearl's Vengeance

The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Wednesday, September 7, 2011 is the Pearl's Vengeance Badge.  This is a medium rated badge for the game Battalion Vengeance.  To get the badge you have to win on the bonus map. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.

The bonus map option is in the top left corner of the main menu.  I found it easy to beat once I realized I could make new units from the Warmachine units.  My favorite unit is the Vulture Drone because when it kills an enemy it gets to move and/or attack again.  Also, the Raptor Fighter is a must for dealing with the enemy Condor Bombers.

Kongregate Badge of Day: Bunker? I 'ardly knew 'er!

The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Sunday, September 3, 2011 is the Bunker? I 'ardly knew 'er! Badge.  This is a Hard rated badge for the game Mud and Blood 2.  To get the badge you have to beat wave 50 without losing more than 10 guys. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 33 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.

3:40pm Update: I finally was able to get this badge after hours of trying.  It partially takes strategy to survive 50 waves and not lose more than 10 guys.  However, it is also partially based on luck, such as the battlefield layout and the enemy waves you encounter.   The strategy that ended up working for me was to have 5 soldiers (4 from beginning plus an extra from a crate drop), 4 .50 caliber jeeps (lost one early on from an airplane), and 1 scout.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Character Collector

The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Saturday, September 3, 2011 is the Character Collector Badge.  This is a Medium rated badge for the game Great Dungeon in the Sky.  To get the badge you have to unlock 100 characters. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.

To get the badge you must collect 100 characters.  It is overall quite easy, but it can take about 30 minutes to play through enough parts of the dungeon to meet enough different enemies and collect them.  You unlock characters when you defeat them.  You start with about 30, so really only have to unlock about 70 more.

How to Download 3DS Amassador Program Free eShop Games

I thought it would be very straightforward and my 3DS or the eShop would tell me exactly how to get the first 10 free games that were released on September 1, 2011, but it was not.  Instead I only stumbled across that they show up on downloaded games and you have to click redownload to get them.  Below is a step by step walkthrough to get the games if you are an Ambassador (i.e. you bought and used eShop before price drop).


How to Download 3DS Ambassador Titles

1. Enter eShop on 3DS
2. Tap on Menu in top left corner
3. Scroll down and select the Settings/Other option
4. Scroll down and tap on Your Downloads
5. Scroll down to find the titles.  The amount you have to scroll will vary depending on how much other stuff you have downloaded from the eShop.  You might have to click Next to go to another page to find all or some of the free games for 3DS Ambassadors.
6. Tap on redownload for the games you want to download.
7. Repeat the process to download the rest.

Overall the process is easy, but it is kind of annoying to have to go through all the steps over and over to get all of the initial 10 Virtual Console games.  Although, not as annoying as the fact that there was no alert.  However, in the process of getting all the games I also found I could download something called Ambassador Certificate, which allows you to turn on notifications.  Thus for the remaining titles promised to eventually be released for free to Ambassadors I should be able to know when they are available to go download.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Cake for Coins

The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Friday, September 2, 2011 is the Cake for Coins Badge.  This is an Easy rated badge for the game Feed the King.  To get the badge you have to earn 100 coins. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 6 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.


This is an easy badge to get.  I earned enough in just 4 to 5 plays on Classic.  Every 1,000 points turns into 1 coin at the end of the game.  The coins accumulate, so you do not have to get 100 on one play.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Hey! Listen!

The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Thursday, September 1, 2011 is the Hey! Listen! Badge.  This is an Easy rated badge for the game Hero's Arms.  To get the badge you have to kill 20 enemies. For getting this Badge of the Day you get 6 Gamestop PowerUp Reward Points.

Today's badge is another very easy badge to get.  Just go around killing the spider enemies and you can easily and very quickly get the badge.  You can just keep going to new sections or you can leave a section and then go back into it for the enemies to respawn.
