The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Sunday, August 14, 2011 is the Real-World Geometry Badge. This is a medium rated badge for the game Boomstick.
To get the badge you have to get a score of at least 500. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
The score is based on the number of kills plus your accuracy plus the number of levels you reach. For the kills and accuracy percentage you get as many points as those numbers are. For the levels you get 5 points per level you play.
The game goes until you run out of ammo. The ammo can really add up if you hit multiple shapes with one shot, as each shape gets you back about as much as one shot. Make sure you go back and forth picking up the ammo that falls from the kills. Getting multiple kills per shot also helps increase your accuracy percentage, which means more points at the end. Overall I found this took little time to get the hang of and get enough for the badge. I probably could have gotten a way higher score, but I got tired of the game and started not really aiming to reduce my ammo and finally have the game over to submit my score for the badge.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points and PowerUp Reward Points.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Gnarly Pipeline
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Saturday, August 13, 2011 is the Gnarly Pipeline Badge. This is a hard rated badge for the game Dino Run.
To get the badge you have to doom surf for 30 seconds. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 33 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
You can get the doomsurf badge even if you play on easy. Hang back and wait for the wave of doom to get to you and then try to stay in the doom without it taking over the whole screen. In order for the doomsurfing time to count, you have to make it out of the doom wave. I kept ending up out at 28 and 29 seconds, but finally managed to stay in and get out after 39 seconds on the first level on Easy.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Sacrifice for the Cause
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Thursday, August 11, 2011 is the Sacrifice fro the Cause Badge. This is an easy rated badge for the game Use Boxmen.
To get the badge you have to beat level 3. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 6 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
The first three levels are pretty easy. The first is straight forward. The second one you have to hit shift to leave a copy of yourself on the button. In the third you have to copy yourself while jumping and the copy will continue jumping. Timing when to copy can be a little tricky, but not too hard. Using R restarts the level, which is faster than clicking the restart button in top right of game.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: OMG! TANGERINES
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Wednesday, August 10, 2011 is the OMG! TANGERINES Badge. This is a medium rated badge for the game Tangerine Panic.
To get the badge you have to dodge at least 100 tangerines. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
Tangerine Panic starts off slow, but very quickly get intense. I thought I would never get it after playing for 15 minutes and not getting more than 97, but then I suddenly dodged 176 tangerines. Definitely requires focus, as the tangerines bounce all over the place with varying trajectories. Its oddly kind of fun, though.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Profesioeo
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Tuesday, August 9, 2011 is the Profesioeo Badge. This is a medium rated badge for the game Doeo.
To get the badge you have to get a score of at least 30,000 in easy mode and beat the king in under 20 seconds. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
This badge was extremely easy for me to get on the first try. You just move your mouse around to collect the Doeo. In each level you must get at least 100 to move to the next. In the final level you must get the king 5 times by moving in through the opening in his circle and then touching me. I easily ended up with 32,000 points and got the king in about 15 seconds despite hitting the circle two or three times.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Whale of a Tale
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Sunday, August 7, 2011 is the Whale of a Tale Badge. This is a hard rated badge for the game Moby Dick.
To get the badge you have to get a score of 500,000 and submit it after the game ends. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 33 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
I have found this game to be fun to play, but it is extremely hard for me to get the hard achievement. My high score is only about 30,000 so far. I might keep trying some more today, but I doubt I can get good enough in just a day for this badge.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Party Crasher
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Saturday, August 6, 2011 is the Party Crasher Badge. This is a medium rated badge for the game Meat Boy.
To get the badge you have to collect 4 band-aids, which unlocks Castle Crusher. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
I had little problem with the first set of levels and got both the bandaids available in them, but the second set is way too hard for me. I always have stunk at games that involved jumping. This game I stink even more than usual at jumping. Maybe, it is just me, but the damn meat thing is an extremely erratic jumper. This makes it very hard to avoid the buzz saws. By the way the 4 earliest band-aids are in Levels 3, 5, 7, and 9.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: You Don't Know Jack
I use to love playing You Don't Know Jack on the computer, so when I saw that they made a version for the Nintendo DS earlier this year I just had to try it out. I ended up renting it through Gamefly, but I would not have regretted it if I had purchased instead.
In You Don't Know Jack for the Nintendo DS you can play as 1 or 2 players. I only tried single player. There are 37 different episodes to play through. Basically, you can play through them all and then know all the answer and really rock at it.
The gameplay is just as fun as the original computer versions of You Don't Know Jack. You buzz in by pressing the arrow direction for the correct answer to multiple choice questions. For the Dis or Dat you use L and R buttons. For the Final Jack Attack round you can press any button when the clues match up to fit the category.
Overall You Don't Know Jack is a fun trivia game, especially if you have enjoyed the computer versions. However, it is somewhat limited in overall gameplay value since it only has 37 episodes, so only 370 total "questions." Thus, it might make a better rental than purchase, but for the current price (~$17 to $23) it is available for it is not a bad deal to purchase it and leisurely play through all the episodes.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Life, Love, Understanding
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Friday, August 5, 20 is the Life, Love, Understanding Badge. This is a medium rated badge for the game Elephant Rave.
To get the badge you have to survive the whole rave. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 17 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
You start by just dodging the lasers from the top of the screen. They start red and turn green as they are about to come down. About halfway through hurdles come from the left and move across the bottom of the screen. This is the point I cannot seem to get past, as I always end up jumping over the hurdle and then not being able to move away from a top laser fast enough after clearing the hurdle. Definitely a game that requires patience.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.

Kongregate Badge of the Day: Frosty's Fall
The Kongregate Badge of the Day for Thursday, August 4, 2011 is the Frosty's Fall Badge. This is an rated badge for the game Learn to Fly.
To get the badge you have to Destroy the Snowman. For
getting this Badge of the Day you get 6 Gamestop PowerUp
Reward Points.
I already had this badge, but I remember it taking some time to figure out how to be low enough to hit the snowman when I got enough upgrades to fly far enough to get to it. If I remember correctly, turning around and flying upside down after I passed it ended up being how I got it. However, you head low and stay low when you notice you are getting close can work, too.
As always if you already have the badge, just go to the game and you will be awarded the extra points.
