iPhone Game Screnshots: Ski Jump

I was searching to get the NBC Olympics app yesterday and ended up finding the Ski Jump game. It is pretty interesting, but really is not much. The graphics are boring and a side view of track and your ski jumper. It would be better if it seemed realistic if the view was more like that on the Wii Fit game. It is kind of a fun Olympics themed game to enjoy right now, but unless you really like it the lite version is more than enough for most.

iPhone Game Screenshots: TapDefense

I have enjoyed many hours of playing tower defense games on places like Andkon. TapDefense is a fun alternative for when I only have my iPhone. It is pretty easy to play, although their is a good amount of challenge in finding the right strategy to make it through the levels without losing lives. There is a decent amount of different towers, paths, and difficulties to enjoy giving it a good amount of depth and making it a keeper on my iPhone.

iPhone Game Screenshots: Match 3D Flick Puzzle Free

Match 3D Flick Puzzle is an interesting match 3 style puzzle game. It is basically a giant cube style board that you match three of a kind to get rid of the symbols. The tricky part is finding matches sometimes because you have to keep turning the cube to find what side has a match.

Overall it is not that hard to play, although getting really high scores can be. It has nice colorful graphics. It is not all that addicting like some other match 3 games, though.

This weekend I enjoyed Tony's Pizza using some free coupons I was given in order to try them and write this post. At my house we tend to only buy Red Baron pizza because it is microwaveable and if we do pizza in the oven we buy the dough and make it ourselves. I mostly do not like crispy crust, so I was a little unsure about these pizzas.

I made them on a pizza stone and even though I cooked them the high end of the 12 to 14 minutes the dough was not crispy, which was a good thing in my opinion. The package says to do it right on your oven rack, so I assume that is what makes them normally crispy, but I do not like the idea of it getting my oven rack all dirty. I would imagine a dark pan would work almost as well if not better. Overall they taste pretty good (I only tried the cheese, as I do not eat meat, but my brother said the pepperoni was good), however there is not enough cheese on it. I do not understand why frozen pizzas never seem to have enough cheese to hide the sauce, which is what a real pizza should look like in my opinion. For the price ($1.29 at my grocery store), though, it is a pretty good deal, as for me it was enough for two meals and way cheaper and better tasting then the Red Baron ones I normally buy.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: My Healthy Cooking Coach

I bought My Healthy Cooking Coach a few weeks ago. I have tried a few of the recipes for my 100 Recipes a Year goal. The recipes are rather easy to follow, but the voice recognition to move on while cooking stinks. It seems to get confused by simple background noise, which there is bound to be while cooking.

I was also disappointed in the amount of recipes not being that great, especially since most of the limited number have meat in them and I do not eat meat. Most disappointing is the game part is horrible. It is supposed to be making recipes like the whole Cooking Mama games are about, but the controls and such do not work that well.

iPhone Game Screenshots: Cash Machine

Cash Machine is a fun match 3 style puzzle game. I like how you match 3 symbols to upgrade them into better items. It gets hard by the end. I still have not been able to get the ultimate item (the pearl), but it is still a fun game. One of the few keepers I have tried on my phone.

iPhone Game Screenshots: Tap Farm

Tap Farm is a free simulation farm game. I have been a fan of farming games since I played Harvest Moon 2. The later versions of that are not bad, but nothing beats the simplicity of the 2nd one. I have tried the original and the 2nd is the best in my opinion. Anyways the new wave of simulation farming on Facebook and stuff has piqued my interest.

I mostly enjoy Papaya Farm, but that is currently gone from the iPhone app store, although it might still be downloadable for other mobile phones and a Facebook version is supposedly in the works. I still mostly play Papaya Farm, as it is still on my iPhone, however, one day when the app was not working (their servers sometimes go down) I searched for an alternative and came up with Tap Farm.

Tap Farm is just as easy, but it is not as fulfilling (i.e. entertaining). It just takes so much to get stuff and there is not really much to do other than harvest, plant, and decorate the farm. It misses important things like the social aspect of giving stuff and stealing stuff from others farms. It is also missing the fun of processing crops to be other things when you have the tools.

Overall it is not bad for a free Farm app, but Papaya Farm is better and next time it is not working I will be looking for a new Farm app and not going back to Tap Farm, as there is nothing to really get me wanting to go back to it.

iPhone Game Screenshots: MyTown

MyTown is an interesting game where you can check in at various places around you. It is meant to be you checking in at the places you actually go, but you can also check in at other nearby places just to rack up points and buy locations. It is not really all the interesting, though, and after a little while it gets pretty boring. If you use it as it is meant to be used and check-in where you go and perhaps connect more with your acquaintances by using it to update your status on Facebook or Twitter with the optional part of checking in at locations. Overall I got over it being interesting in a day, but I never cared for the whole status update thing and did not integrate it with my Facebook or Twitter. At least it is free and has some interesting potential for some.
