iPhone Game Screenshots: Shake & Spell

Shake & Spell is a free iPhone game. I love word games and this is my favorite iPhone game I have tried. In the game you select letter tiles to form words before time runs out. You can compete against real people in online battles. I think this is related to a Facebook app and you can combine your stats by linking it to your Facebook account.

Mad Catz Exercise Mat for Nintendo Wii

Ever since I got Wii Fit I have thought about getting some sort of mat because I have concrete floor and it hurts doing a lot of the step on/off and half on/off things with the concrete. Then I got My Fitness Coach and it really became necessary. I ended up buying the Mad Catz Exercise Mat, which is said to increase comfort and decrease impact during workout as well as help keep the balance board in place. The second thing it is very useful for, as now the balance board stays put during the aerobic stuff. It does minimize the impact, but the mats thickness when laid flat is about the same thickness of the cardboard the box it came in is made from. I guess I could have figured that out if I read the box, but seriously I just assumed it was like a yoga mat considering it was priced about the same as a true yoga mat, but I could have gotten a true yoga mat with a reasonable thickness for the same price. I already bought it and am going to live with this one for a while, but I do not think it is going to cut it for long and I will probably get something thicker soon.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: Pokemon Platinum

I bought Pokemon Platinum the other day. It is not much different than Diamond and Pearl, but since my brother took my copy of Pearl and those games used were only $5 cheaper I got Platinum as a good road trip game for this summer when we go to All the Ballparks. So far the play is mostly familiar for the little I played of Pearl, but I like that this one has expanded WiFi features even though I have not used them yet. Also, it does have some added story elements and Pokemon, so it really is a great deal for only $5 more, as long as you are into playing the Pokemon games. Nintendo Wii Screenshots: My Fitness Coach

I finally got My Fitness Coach as a Gamefly rental. I was not sure if I was going to like it, but I was impressed after the first workout that I took advantage of it being a Keep It game and that I had a $5 gift certificate available to use and bought. It is not exactly the best in terms of using the Wii capabilities, as it does not use the balance board at all and the Wii remote is only used on the menu selection pages. It is, however, a great workout tool in that the exercises have six different categories, you can choose your workout duration in intervals of 15 minutes from 15 to 75 minutes, and the workouts adapt to your abilities and vary to some extent. Basically it is a lot like doing a workout with a workout video, however, it is better than that because it changes regularly and is more like getting a whole set of videos and you sure cannot get that for the price of this game. As a Wii video game it is poor, but as a fitness or weigh loss tool it is a steal of a deal. Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger version of the screenshots.

Nintendo Wii Screenshots: Disney Think Fast

Disney Think Fast is a fun trivia game show game for the Wii. The graphics are great and it is fun with the Genie from Aladdin being the host. The different Disney settings are fun, too, such as playing in Hawaii (Lilo & Stitch), Under the Sea (Little Mermaid), and London (101 Dalmations). There are a lot of different types of rounds, especially if you do long multiplayer. Playing on your own can still be fun, which is one of the big things Smarty Pants (another game show trivia Wii game) lacks. I really enjoyed it as a rental and would consider it being worth buying, except it gets quite repetitive fast and the Disney Scene It games offer way more play before becoming repetitive. It still makes a very kid friendly game for young Disney fans and is fun for big Disney fans of all ages. Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger version of the screenshots.
