Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been working on finishing my first 50,000 words of the novel I began for National Novel Writing Month this month. I did it and now need to still finish the book, but at least I got the first 50,000 words done before the deadline tonight. Here is the video clip of Spelling Challenges for Nintendo DS. It really was an addicting game, but it was not that hard to part with, as it was kind of too easy for me.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: Spelling Challenges and More
I found this to be a fun educational DS game, although kind of below my ability. I think this shows great potential for making the DS a learning device and the game can really help kids improve spelling skills. Some of the different types of challenges are hard, but for the most part it is easy if you are probably past middle school and can at least somewhat spell. What really is hard is the parts that rely on vocabulary, as the definitions are sometimes very vague. I totally recommend this game for all grade school kids that could use some improvement in spelling. Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger version of the screenshots

Gamecube Screenshots: Carmen San Diego and the Secret of the Stolen Drums
I thought this game might be interesting considering I use to love the Carmen SanDiego Computer games and the tv quiz show, but this game is down right boring. There is way too much different control features and I got overwhelmed in the first level trying to learn all the tutorial junk that it took over half an hour just to get through the first level. The game then proceeds to be pretty boring for me and I gave up trying to get past the robots in the next level and mailed the game back. If you like adventure style games then you may find this a different one to enjoy, but I found it way too complex of a game. Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger version of them.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: Drawn to Life
This game sounded interesting, but I found it boring. I thought you were going to actually get to draw stuff and create the world, but even though I guess you kind of do there is way too much you have to do that is just listening to the other characters blabber on. It is totally boring with you getting to do nothing. I spent half an hour playing and barely drew anything. Maybe, you eventually get past the introductory blabber and do stuff, but it takes way too long. Click on the thumbnails below to see screenshots.

Nintendo DS Screenshots: Flash Focus
I rented this game a couple weeks ago. It was interesting to try out and would be interesting to have to play daily, but it does kind of get repetitive fast and thus is only something to play for like five minutes every day. It is a good way to improve things related to using your eyes just like Brain Age helps with keeping your brain in shape. The one problem I have with it is the eye relaxation part, as I found it actually kind of hurt and was definitely not relaxing to do. Click on the screenshots below to see a larger version of them.
